Usage guide

The program is used to help you submit user abuse reports to the Combat Arms EU forum. This is a brief overview of some basic and advanced features.

main

Screenshots
To add screenshot links, double click in the empty Image link cell and paste your link.
To add a local image, click the "Add new screenshot" button and select your image, or drag&drop it in the list. Once you added all images to the list click "Upload all images" to upload them to a selected image hosting provider.
Images can be removed from the list by selecting them and clicking "Remove screenshot" or by pressing DEL on the keyboard.
The list has a context menu accessible with the right click.

Interacting with YouTube
There are three modes of YouTube interaction: If you don't have or don't want to use your YouTube account, you can use the integrated CAE Reporter Account to upload your videos. You have full control of videos you upload, but even though a shared account is used, you can't access other program user's videos.
If you don't want to upload videos using the program you can enter just you username and fetch uploaded videos to include them in the report.
The third option behaves exactly as the first, but deleting videos is disabled.

Videos
To add links to YouTube videos double click in the empty "Video link" cell and paste your link. If you configured the program to access YouTube, click on the "Add (YouTube)" button and a list of your videos will appear. To add a video to the report double-click on it, or click "Add to report". You can also add videos from the upload cache (explained below).
The video list has a context menu accessible with the right click.

Using the encoder and video editor
Before uploading FRAPS-ed videos, they should be re-encoded for smaller size. It makes no sense to upload a 2 min video that is 4.0 GB in size. It can be re-encoded to less then 100 MB with minimal loss in quality.
You can access the video encoder from the Tools menu. Use the Browse button or drag&drop a video file to load it. Any video file you can playback is supported regardless of container or codecs used.
Your last used encoding settings are loaded and output filename and size is suggested for you. If you don't understand the encoding settings click on the help button right of the encode button. The help button also explains how to trim the video, slow it down, extract snapshots and add them to your report as screenshots. When you have chosen the settings, click Encode and wait for it to finish. You can have many encoder windows active at the same time. If your capture is segemented into several AVI files simply load any AVI segment and the program will automatically load the complete capture for you. This behavior can be disabled in the Options. When encoding is finished you are given the option to upload the video to YouTube.

Uploading videos to YouTube
Open the uploader from the Tools menu, or click Upload on the videos section of the main window. Browse or drag&drop a video file, input title, description and keywords and click Upload. That's it :) You can have many upload windows active at the same time.

Upload caching
Videos freshly uploaded to YouTube will be unavailable from the "Add (YouTube)" button even if you use the "Refresh my YouTube videos" button from the Configuration menu. This is because YouTube doesn't expose videos (through the API) that are in the early processing phase. To help you out, the program caches all upload information for 8 hours. You can access your freshly uploaded videos from the "Add (upload cache)" button, and include them in the report. The cache can be manually cleared in the options.

Submitting reports and using the library
First populate all required fields in the main window, upload your screenshots and/or videos. If you need to input a different offence then those provided by the drop down, select Other, and type in the offence. When you are done - click "Generate report". A new window will show up where you can preview your report. If you decide to post it manually, click "Copy to Clipboard", or right click on the preview pane, and select "Copy All", then paste it in the forum's new topic window. If you want to add your manually submitted post to the library, click "Add to library", then paste the thread url of the post in the text box and click OK. If you don't want to include a forum url, just click "Skip".
If you entered your forum credentials in the options, you can click "Submit report" and the report will be submitted for you, and added to the library. Easy :)
The library can be accessed from the Tools menu. The options there are pretty self explanatory. You can double-click on an entry to preview it. You can also input report forum url for reports manually submitted. The library supports exporting to CSV format which you can open in Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice.org Calc and analyze it.
The Check and Check All buttons check if reported player's account is active. If a change is detected, that entry will have a green background to spot easier. Inactive accounts are not checked to conserve bandwidth.

Suggestion box
Suspect player names are automatically suggested as you type. The provider for the names is www.combatarms-rank.com. If for some reason the suggestion box failed to contact the provider, you will be notified that the suggestion box will not function. The suggestions can be enabled or disabled in the Misc tab in Options. The suggestion list also accepts keyboard input so you can use arrow keys and then Enter to select a proposed name, or Esc to hide it.

Auto update feature
When starting up the program checks if a newer version is available. If so, a prompt will allow you to download it. The check is performed only once per 24h. This option can be enabled or disabled on the Misc tab in Options. There you can also manually check for updates by clicking the "Check now" button.
